Who are your most famous classmates?
|
Fame
is not a simple thing to measure
objectively, but the internet
does provide a tool which is
objective and quantitative,
albeit imprecise. One must
understand that the scores do
not measure fame among the
general population in America,
but only fame among internet
users, who are not
representative of the whole
group, and who are spread across
the world.
There
are some surprises here, at
least to me. I thought Mike
Critelli would be an easy
winner, but Don Zientara is a
true rock-'n'-roll legend!

How
do these numbers compare to REAL
fame? By the
Schulman Method, Don and
Mike are D-list celebrities. The
A-list requires three million
hits, the B-list five hundred
thousand. High "Bs" like Roger
Ebert and Star Trek's William
Shatner each get about one and a
half million hits. Low "As" like
Paul McCartney and Fidel Castro
get about 3 million. Hollywood
superhunks Brad Pitt and Tom
Cruise get 4.5 and 8.8 million
respectively. Jesus Christ gets
ten million, but the
international champions like
Britney Spears and Oprah get in
the range of 25 million!

Who
are your most educated classmates?
|
In
addition to the ones
identified above (Cala, the
two Critellis, Holowka, Jesien
and Nyhan), here are other
classmates with advanced
degrees (Ed.D, Ph.D, M.D,
D.D.S, or J.D):
Maureen Pilato Lamb,
Tom Bailey,
Suzanne Butler McMasters,
Don Marshall,
Bill Morrison,
Joe Casciani,
Tom Rood,
Norb Szymula,
Gene Zito,
Felice Cerquone Archuleta,
Gerry Cellura, and the
late
Gail Infande. There may
be many more with doctoral
degrees. We don't know, for
example, what happened to
Barbara Parks, Richard Pero,
and Honora Hickey, three of
our resident geniuses. As I
recall (perhaps inaccurately),
Jim MacPherson was very close
to finishing off his PhD when
they made him CEO and he no
longer had time for intense
academic matters.
Have
I missed anyone from either
list? If so, accept apologies
and let
me know so I can correct
it.
